Friday, June 2 from 9 AM to 1 PM: Take Action Mental Health LA
West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center is throwing a Veterans resource festival. Along with fun activities and entertainment, there will be moderated panel discussions, resources, services, and engagement and networking opportunities. Look out for their prize giveaways! Saturday, June 10 from 10 AM to 2 PM: Walk and Drum for Mental Health Awareness
Sycamores and Los Angeles County’s Department of Mental Health are bringing communities together for their Walk for Mental Health Awareness and Resource Fair. Participants will be able to create and carry signs for their 1 mile walk, to create awareness for mental health. Registered guests will get a free t-shirt and lunch from one of the local gourmet food trucks there, as well as access to free art projects, games, resources, and swag bags. Saturday, June 11 from 12 PM to 3 PM: Summer Health & Wellness Event
Enjoy a free, fun day of health and fitness through the outdoor classes offered by Corepower Yoga, Coreology, and Cyclebar. After your work out, you can enjoy some retail therapy and food at establishments such as Sweetgreen, Sephora, Therabody, and Sunlife Organics. Saturday, June 17 from 10 AM to 12 PM: Ayurveda for Mental Health
Hosted by Community Yoga Club/Ashtanga Yoga Long Beach, they will be guiding participant through the principles of Ayurveda and Yoga in relation to mental health. Ayurveda is a natural system of medicine originating in India that believes in order to maintain health we must also address the mind. To register, click here.
Saturday, June 17 from 2 PM to 5 PM: Whole Minds in Concert
Get inspired at this free music event that showcases singers, musicians, and songwriters that bring not only their talents but also touching testimonials. Saturday, June 24th from 9 AM to 1 PM: The Ripple Effect: Walk for Suicide Prevention
Cost: $40 for adults, $30 for students
Little Tokyo Service Center’s Walk for Suicide Prevention will raise funds in support of Changing Tide’s initiatives in mental health awareness and services for the AAPI community. This walk will be in remembrance of those we have lost by suicide, as a communal moment of reflection and unity. To register, click here.
